Mental Health Specialist for Acquired Brain Injury

As a Mental Health Specialist for Acquired Brain Injury, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological services within a multidisciplinary team that offers rehabilitation and community support to clients in Fraser Health's Acquired Brain Injury Services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of psychological services to clients with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including assessment, treatment, and social rehabilitation.
- Conduct comprehensive oral and written assessments of client functioning, covering areas such as intellectual, neurocognitive, emotional, personality, psychopathology, interests, and aptitudes.
- Develop and implement rehabilitative treatment plans through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, focusing on training and social rehabilitation of clients with ABI.
- Administer neurocognitive assessments to individuals with mild to severe brain injuries who are clients of Acquired Brain Injury Services.
- Design and lead individual and group treatment interventions for challenging personality traits post-injury, working closely with the multidisciplinary team and contractors to inform psychological aspects of the care plan.
- Lead program development and management of psychological services for the Acquired Brain Injury program, bringing clinical and administrative expertise on ABI assessment, treatment, service planning, and program design.
- Consult with colleagues on assessment and treatment issues, which may involve direct consultation, co-therapy, psychoeducational groups, or discussions regarding client concerns; coordinate multi-disciplinary service interventions; consult with community professionals and agencies on psychological issues.
- A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, including relevant coursework, training, and clinical supervision in assessment/testing and intervention.
- Two years' recent related experience in neurocognitive assessment and administration/interpretation of neurocognitive assessments.
- Experience working with rehabilitation interventions, multidisciplinary teamwork with complex care clients, and experience working with individuals with an acquired brain injury within a clinical or supportive setting.
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
The estimated salary for this role is $ $118,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative work environment.
