We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Community Resource Navigator to join our team in the Community Strategies and Family Supports Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals and families in need.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing navigation services to Ontario Works clients, including those living with complex needs such as mental illness, addiction, and/or experiencing homelessness. They will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure effective delivery of services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide navigation services to Ontario Works clients, including referrals to service providers and support to identify and attend appointments and programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Seek out resources and partnerships that benefit underserved and/or marginalized families.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum one (1) year post-secondary diploma/certificate in Community or Social Services or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience working with at-risk and/or marginalized communities, including complex social issues.
  • Familiarity with municipal policies and procedures, as well as local community agencies and service providers.
  • Satisfactory Police Check Vulnerable Sector required as a condition of employment.

What We Offer

The City of Brantford offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will also receive paid training and professional development opportunities, as well as a flexible work environment.
