Job Summary

The Location Operations Manager is a key role within Simplot Canada (II) Limited, responsible for leading the location team and driving operational excellence. This position requires a strong leader who can oversee all aspects of location operations, including office, equipment, and warehouse maintenance, as well as supervise operational and admin staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a desire to help farmers succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee overall operations of the location, including office, equipment, and warehouse maintenance
  • Supervise operational and admin staff, including staffing, training, and performance management
  • Develop and manage annual location budgets for operations, maintenance, and equipment
  • Oversee accounts receivable and participate in the development of annual sales budget and forecasting
  • Ensure inter-office communications and coordinate custom application and equipment
  • Manage product inventory and ordering, as well as work with account managers on product forecasting
  • Submit reports to market manager and ensure equipment is well maintained and in good repair
  • Establish a location wish list for capital purchases and assist the leadership team with asset purchases
  • Oversee location OH&S standards and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
  • Keep location facilities in compliance with AWSA warehouse standard
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team calls and individual coaching sessions with market manager
  • Train, mentor, and oversee temporary operations staff
  • Develop and manage the locations community sponsorship budget
  • Ensure timely data entry for accounts into CRM system and maintain customer records
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote Agronomy and Ag Innovation services
  • Deliver farm inputs directly to customers upon request
  • Attend workshops/training sessions to continually upgrade skills and knowledge
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with vendor/supplier representatives
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years in agriculture/agronomy background preferred
  • Experience in sales is an asset
  • Passion for agriculture and desire to help farmers succeed
