Research Project Coordinator Specialist

Overview
The University of Waterloo seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Project Coordinator to provide administrative, financial, and project support to the Emerging Radio Systems Group (EmRG) with all aspects of its research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project schedules and deadlines for reporting, ensuring timely submission of progress reports to granting agencies and partners.
- Monitor accounts following various granting agency regulations, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end and other progress reports, as required, adhering to granting agency guidelines.
- Complete necessary forms and budgetary information related to granting agencies and the Office of Research.
- Respond to information requests from researchers, collaborators, and agencies, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Maintain records of project agreements and track project workflow, ensuring seamless coordination.
- Coordinate lab equipment usage, upholding safety requirements and promoting efficient use of resources.
- Support human resources administration, including paperwork for salary or scholarship payments and providing guidance to co-ops, research assistants, and visitors.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or higher degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience considered.
- 3 years of related administrative experience, preferably in a university research environment.
- Experience coordinating large-scale projects and preparing reports is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Office, databases, SharePoint, and web-based platforms.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, with ability to interact professionally and effectively.
- Able to work independently with high accuracy, attention to detail, and flexibility.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent time management, organization, and coordination skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
