Payroll Administrator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team at Aitchison College of Technology & Health Sciences Inc.
Job Summary:The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for preparing and processing payroll, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and process payroll, including calculating gross and net salaries, deductions, and benefits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including payroll data, employee information, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws, employment standards, and benefits
- Perform data entry and maintain payroll systems, including Viewpoint, Easypay, and accounting software
- Prepare and submit reports, including T4 statements and other financial documents
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and management, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with HR and management to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees, management, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- 2 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a similar industry
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as business administration or accounting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Access
- Experience with payroll software, including Viewpoint and Easypay
- Basic security clearance
- Experience working with diverse populations, including newcomers, refugees, and Indigenous peoples
- Knowledge of employment standards, tax laws, and benefits
- Experience with data entry and payroll systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
