Children's Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Children's Mental Health Worker to join our team at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto.
Key Responsibilities- Process service requests in a caring and professional manner, adhering to NCFST's standards and procedures.
- Conduct holistic family assessments using the Family Healing Model and identify appropriate resources to meet needs.
- Provide one-to-one child play intervention strategies and long-term interpersonal counselling with light case management.
- Offer crisis support, advocacy, and group-based services as required.
- Collaborate with community members and their families to create ongoing support circles.
- Compile and maintain accurate documentation, including manual records and statistical reporting.
- Refer cases to relevant resources and supports, and participate in circles and case conferences as needed.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (BSW, BA, MA or MSW).
- Strong understanding and practice of Indigenous approaches to healing, including land-based practices and cultural knowledge.
- Training in a therapeutic modality, such as Family Work or Child Play Therapy.
- Direct clinical experience working with children, youth, and families in a clinical setting within the last 5 years.
- Sound clinical skills in working with families using the Systemic Approach.
- Pass a vulnerable sector police records check.
- Knowledge and awareness of the diverse urban Indigenous population.
