Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Management Supervisor to join our team at University Health Network. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and meet the needs of our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Direct and control the activities and quality of services provided by facilities management staff.
- Workload Coordination: Coordinate workloads, assign work duties and tasks, check, inspect and monitor activities of assigned employees.
- Employee Evaluations: Complete employee evaluations for assigned employees on a schedule determined by the hospital.
- Backfilling: Backfill Manager, Facility Operations when required.
- Quality Management: Review work in progress, check and inspect as necessary for conformance to job specifications and with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal requirements, regulations and standards.
- Financial Management: Perform financial management responsibilities, including budgeting and cost control.
- Planning and Development: Perform planning responsibilities, including formulating a strategic infrastructure renewal recommendation.
- Personnel Development: Perform personnel development functions to maintain a productive work environment.
- Corporate Management: Perform corporate management functions, including compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations.
- Education: At minimum, completion of a 2-year community college program leading to a trade certification in Electrical, Millwright, Carpentry or Plumbing or recognized.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of maintaining multiple communication channels.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to implement sustainable/beneficial change and coordinate many activities concurrently.
- Emergency Response: Ability to handle emergency and/or crisis situations effectively and efficiently.
- Technical Skills: Ability to use all tools/equipment common to the trades and perform the physical requirements of department staff positions for training and demonstration purposes.
- Knowledge: Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of Hospital accreditation requirements, industry standards, Hospital policies and procedures, financial control principles, Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Infection Prevention and Control Standards and environmental waste management regulations.
- Computer Literacy: Computer literate in Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate spreadsheets and reports, as well as creating simple drawings with Microsoft Visio or equivalent.
