Job Title: THB - Moving Helper

About the Role:

The Moving Helper is a key member of our team at Traditional Moving & Storage (Thunder Bay), a business unit of Gardewine. As a Moving Helper, you will be responsible for loading and unloading household goods, such as boxes and furniture, and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all clients
  • Ensure a safe and respectful work environment at all times
  • Participate in the packing of household items
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and government regulations
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and other team members
  • Load and unload households, tag, and list, pad and protect furniture in a timely manner
  • Work safely and adhere to Gardewine's safe work policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team's goals and objectives

Requirements:

We are looking for a strong team player with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Prior experience in loading and unloading household/office furniture and specialty freight is an asset. You must be able to work collaboratively with others and have a proven history of working in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

The Moving Helper role requires physical stamina to move boxes, furniture, and office equipment as required. You must be able to bend, lift, turn, carry, twist, and go up and down stairs carrying weight.
