Lead Structural Engineer - Burnaby

Ausenco is a leading consulting and project delivery company with a strong presence in Canada. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement structural engineering designs for new infrastructure projects and seismic upgrade projects in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Perform analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures and concrete foundations.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and prepare reports relating to existing and new structures.
  • Evaluate and analyze existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions.
  • Prepare specifications, design criteria, and material take-off for projects.
  • Supervise the work of other engineers on the project team and liaise with client representatives and general contractors directly.
  • Support Business Development efforts and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized University (Master's degree considered an asset).
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC (Registration in another Province or internationally considered an asset).
  • Designated Structural Engineer (Struct.Eng.) in BC.
  • 12+ years' experience in a structural design environment, including 10 years' experience in seismic upgrade projects.
  • Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Proficiency in application of Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and design software such as SFRAME, ETABS or SAP2000.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English.

Salary range: $130,000-$175,000. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
