Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Specialist to join our Inpatient Mental Health team at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. This dynamic role requires a professional who can provide clinical teaching, staff development, and advance quality of care in acute mental health settings.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge base in evidence-based practices and best practices for acute mental health care. They will be responsible for implementing and evaluating strategies to influence, engage, and facilitate the inter-professional practice team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives in mental health programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate staff orientation and education activities.
  • Facilitate continuous learning and professional development among nursing and allied health staff through coaching, mentoring, and educating.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to plan and organize corporate quality management and educational initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Nursing (BScN or BN) and a Master's degree in Nursing, Education, or Health Administration is preferred.
  • Active membership in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Certification with the Canadian Nurses' Association in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing (CPMHNc) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in acute mental health settings is preferred.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $51,537 and $63,851 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
