To align their executive leadership capabilities with their successful strategy of aggressive organic growth, they are seeking to hire a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Scope of Position

The CFO will report to the CEO and be based in the Toronto office. Key responsibilities include overseeing all financial reporting and results, as well as administrative, financial, IT, and risk management operations. The CFO will be accountable for refining the company's financial and operational strategy, developing and monitoring control systems, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial guidance and counsel to the CEO and operating team on strategic business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Lead the finance staff, overseeing accounting, tax, insurance, budget, credit, and treasury functions.
  • Manage relationships with the audit firm and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the finance organization is structured and sized to meet the needs of the business.
  • Oversee purchasing and payroll activity, manage banking and stakeholder relationships, and ensure adequate cash flow.

Key Performance Deliverables

The successful candidate will be expected to achieve specific performance measures, including demonstrating technical expertise, applying commercial and financial principles, and consulting widely for business advice.

Preferred Experience / Education

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in a software or services company. They should possess solid operational skills, experience with mid-sized software companies, and expertise in managing the IT function within the finance mandate.
