We are seeking a reliable Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Residence Duford LTEE. In this permanent role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our group home in an urban setting.

Job Summary

This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You will be expected to perform a variety of tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintenance of living areas.

Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Dust furniture and fixtures to maintain a high level of tidiness
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture to prevent dirt and dust buildup
  • Make beds and change sheets to promote hygiene and comfort
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries as needed
  • Stock linen closet to ensure adequate supplies
  • Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances to maintain a sanitary environment
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other areas to prevent the spread of germs
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure accountability
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items to provide excellent customer service
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene to promote dignity and independence
  • Launder clothing and household linens to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Mend clothing and linens to extend their lifespan
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as required to maintain a tidy and organized space
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to remove dirt and grime
  • Clean changing rooms and showers to promote hygiene and comfort
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No experience required; training provided
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and lifting
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Reliability and punctuality
