Job Summary

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an experienced Clinician to work with clients experiencing mental health issues, including concurrent disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and providing individual therapy and case management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide short-term individual therapy and case management services to clients, using evidence-based practices and interventions.
  • Facilitate clients' access to community resources and rehabilitative programs, ensuring seamless service delivery and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, preparing reports and completing forms as required.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients, providing information about appeal processes and assisting clients to complete necessary forms.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, contributing to initiatives that enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess:
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a relevant health-related discipline.
  • At least two years of recent experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting, or in a rapid response crisis stabilization function.
  • Demonstrated counseling, client assessment, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and concurrent disorders, including alcohol and drug misuse.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, including empathic and respectful communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
