Overview

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a skilled Collections Specialist to join its team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management of complex client transactions.

With your expertise in risk assessment and mitigation, you will be responsible for making informed decisions that balance customer service and business needs.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in collections experience, with a strong understanding of the balance between customer service and business risk mindset.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fulfillment and/or servicing of complex client transactions related to bankruptcies, consumer proposals, and credit counseling services files.
  • Application of sound judgment to approve, decline, or negotiate bankruptcy, consumer proposal, and credit counseling services.
  • Fielding calls from clients and industry professionals.
  • Completing risk reports to ensure a balance between customer service and business risk mindset.
  • Resolving issues related to the specific group, function, and process.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • 2+ years of collections experience.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly interact with RBC partners and employees across Canada.
  • Ability to formulate intricate Risk Assessment Reports when required.
  • Proven negotiation, solution-finding, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take calls from clients, trustees, and service partners in a call centre environment.
  • Strong understanding of the balance between customer service and business risk mindset.
  • Results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to review, seek solutions, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to work shifts within the hours of 8 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday.
