Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented NIHB Support Specialist to join our team at Qalipu First Nation. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of financial, administrative, and clerical services in the processing of NIHB claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and process NIHB claims, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Prepare and maintain records, adhering to Records Management procedures
  • Monitor payments and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and providers, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Process and coordinate accommodations, transportation, and meals for members, adhering to Health Canada's guidelines
  • Prepare preapprovals and process mental health counselling claims, responding to member queries and providing support as needed
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to management and other staff, as required
  • Ensure files are stored and maintained in accordance with the Qalipu Electronic Records Management System and Quality Management Protocols
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Business or Office Administration, or a related field
  • Two years of related experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of office administration and records management procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, providers, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to operate spreadsheet and word-processing programs
Working Conditions

This is an office-based position, with duties predominantly met during regular working hours. Some travel, overtime, and flexibility of work schedule may be required.
