Head Chef in a Dynamic Seafood Restaurant

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team at The South Shore Fish Shack & Half Shell Oyster Bar. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading the culinary direction of our restaurant.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior chef role and will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team of chefs. You will also have a strong knowledge of menu planning, food cost control, and inventory management.
The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of quality and presentation. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the culinary team and develop menus that showcase fresh, local ingredients
- Manage food costs, inventory, and ordering supplies and equipment
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards
- Train and mentor junior staff members
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate prices for goods and services
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior chef role
- Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of quality and presentation
- Knowledge of menu planning, food cost control, and inventory management
- A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year
