Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Ultra Maritime. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their quality management systems.
  • Provide quality input to supplier selection and development, ensuring that only the highest-quality suppliers are selected.
  • Facilitate supplier performance reviews and maintain associated supplier performance metrics.
  • Understand and prioritize supplier development needs across programs and business functions.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics, and delivery.
  • Perform and facilitate investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on the usage of Ultra Maritime's quality management system.
  • Provide quality awareness training to ensure that all employees understand the importance of quality.
  • Ensure risk management and associated tools are being maintained and reviewed effectively.

Requirements

  • Diploma, graduate degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel to visit other Ultra Maritime sites and suppliers.
  • Experience in managing non-conformance reports.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Experience in supplier sourcing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and expertise to develop and execute objectives.
  • The successful candidate must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government NATO security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge of IFS ERP.
  • Internal auditor - Lead auditor preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Knowledge of AQAP / Defense Standards.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / 620.
  • Member of a relevant recognized chartered body.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure with an appetite for measured success.
  • Collaborative working with people with a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellence.
  • High attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Reliable and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Well organized and delivery focused.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
