About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Luxury Hotel Operations Director to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of our major branded 5-star hotel properties in Nova Scotia.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership, management, training, and direction to all departments, ensuring that they meet our high standards for guest service and operational excellence.

You will also be responsible for driving revenue, controlling costs, and focusing on exceeding guest expectations daily and improving established cost and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 5-star room operations, a hands-on management style, and experience in a similar Hotel/Resort management role.

You must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communication and articulate tasks and interact closely with the team to ensure they are well-trained and passionate about guest services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily leadership, management, training, and direction to all departments
  • Drive revenue and control costs
  • Focus on exceeding guest expectations daily and improving established cost and quality standards
  • Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures that strengthen the team and improve the customer experience
  • Recruit, develop, supervise, inspire, and evaluate staff and provide feedback throughout their work to ensure top performance
  • Protect the property and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program, resulting in employee and guest safety, orderly operations, compliance with legislative standards, and company expectations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Hotel Management or Business
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and solid budgetary knowledge and skills
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing a similar 5-star hotel or resort operation
  • A proven track record of strong managerial and computer skills
  • An independent and self-motivated individual with a creative and ambitious mindset
  • Able to work well with a team and has a strong passion for providing personal service and collaborating with F&B
