Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team in the Alliston area. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to our clients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and mobility.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
- Assist clients with ambulation, transfers, and other mobility-related tasks.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their overall well-being and quality of life.
- Participate in staff development and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to Dementia Care (GPA) are assets.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work well independently and under pressure, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
- High interpersonal and customer service skills, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support.
- Experience in medication administration and other healthcare-related tasks is an asset.
- Willingness to update and maintain current knowledge of changing regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required (dated within 6 months of employment start date). TB testing is also required.
