Job Overview

A.T. Storrs is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team in promoting cultural diversity and inclusion. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting newcomers, refugees, and Indigenous people in their social and labour market integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Programs
    • Create and conduct production, inventory, and quality assurance programs to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Analyze data and samples to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Facilitate access to community resources, language training, skills training, and other support services.
    • Recruit and onboard newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
    • Provide mentorship programs pairing newcomers with experienced employees.
    • Offer diversity and cross-cultural trainings to foster a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
    • Offer cultural competency training and awareness sessions to all employees.
    • Facilitate access to Elders for guidance and support.
  • Support for Visible Minorities
    • Apply hiring policies discouraging discrimination against visible minorities.
    • Offer mentorship programs pairing visible minorities with experienced employees.
    • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to promote inclusivity.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Work as part of a permanent team.
    • Communicate effectively in English.
    • Work 30 hours per week.
    Benefits
