Procurement Specialist for Humidity Control

Your Role
">In this position, you will be responsible for procuring and managing commodities within our ERP environment.
You will demonstrate a solid understanding of key business areas affecting the supply chain, knowledge of commodity markets, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
">- You will develop and implement sourcing strategies across various component categories.
- You will establish and maintain effective supplier partnerships, driving strategy to ensure supplier quality, delivery, lead time, and cost performance goals.
- You will conduct global sourcing projects related to assigned product portfolios.
- You will evaluate and audit new suppliers, analyzing quotations to assure quality, quantity, delivery terms, and cost acceptance.
- You will conduct contract negotiations.
- You will develop and implement sourcing strategies for both domestic NA and international sources.
- You will be accountable for timely and effective planning, development, and execution to meet project timelines and cost-saving goals.
- You will identify, research, and implement new materials and processes to drive cost-down efforts.
- You will maintain inventory availability while minimizing working capital investment.
- You will maintain accurate product information, purchasing, pricing, and cost data in SAP.
- You will evaluate part usage patterns to make decisions to control inventory and conduct ABC analysis.
- You will work with appropriate departments to ensure selected vendors can meet quality and delivery requirements.
- You will respond effectively to complex material purchasing issues and demonstrate high-level assurance in decision-making.
- You will collaborate in an international team environment, contributing ideas and alternate approaches when issues or conflicts arise.
- You will take cooperative measures to meet shared company goals to reduce costs, improve on-time delivery, and improve quality.
- You will analyze proposals, tenders, negotiate conditions, and manage contracts, records, and supplier performance.
- You will improve supply chain coordination and integration within the organization.
- You will travel to the USA or international destinations 5-6 times per year, requiring a valid passport and ability to travel.
Requirements
">- You must have at least 5 years of purchasing experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with experience in sourcing internationally (NA, EU, and Asia).
- You must hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical or other business discipline or equivalent education combined with relevant job experience.
- You must have strong technical understanding of Engineering drawings.
- You must be fluent in English (reading, writing, spoken) and have basic knowledge of French as an asset.
- You must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- You must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and have experience using MRP systems such as SAP as an asset.
- You must have basic math skills, including computing rate, ratio, statistical analysis, and percent, and drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
- You must be familiar with JIT systems, Kanban, and LEAN as an asset and have proven experience in major contract negotiation and administration.
