Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Business Partner to join our Contractor Safety Management team at FortisBC. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our contractors and employees while contributing to the development of a reliable natural gas system for over 1 million customers across British Columbia.

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with our contractor community in an OHS advisory capacity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and business needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of our business structure, organizational values, and safety management system.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, communicating effectively, and supporting a strong safety culture.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on contractor safety management, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborating with diverse teams to support the contractor safety management program and initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related discipline from a recognized accredited program.
  • Four to seven years of recent experience in occupational health and safety, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant OH&S certification, such as CRSP or CRST, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A valid B.C. driver's license and the ability to travel frequently for work.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $93,300.00 - $115,800.00 Annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
