Medical Laboratory Technologist: Precision in Healthcare

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing routine lab procedures, rotating through various disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Anatomical Pathology. Your excellent work ethic and attention to detail will ensure accurate results and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have graduated from an accredited Medical Laboratory technology program and be eligible for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists. You will possess strong organizational skills, ability to establish effective work relationships, sustain attention to accuracy and detail, and keep abreast of technological developments in the field.

New Wage: $36.69 - $45.81/hour
Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 19-bed acute care hospital that integrates home and community care into one facility, providing a range of services including emergency/outpatient, medical/surgical, maternity, palliative care, laboratory, radiology, pediatrics, home & community care, and community cancer clinic. Located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley, Smithers offers a unique blend of natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. With a population of approximately 5,401 residents, Smithers provides a close-knit community atmosphere and easy access to nature.

Qualifications and Skills:
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory technology program
- Eligibility for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists
- Ability to organize work effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy over extended periods
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
