Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Distribution Technician to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our gas system team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of our gas system assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete internal training to develop skills and knowledge in gas system installation and maintenance.
  • Participate in field coaching and skills building to ensure proficiency in Distribution Technician tasks.
  • Perform Distribution Technician tasks independently and as part of a crew.
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure public safety while cooperating with first responders and other authorities.
  • Foster good relations with customers and team members.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in pipe fitting and/or underground utility field work.
  • High school graduation and a clean driving abstract.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of Gas Installation Systems.
  • Excellent customer relations and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions during emergency situations.
Additional Information
  • This role requires standby/on-call duties and overtime based on operational needs.
  • The successful candidate must adhere to residency requirements.
  • This role has travel requirements based on operational needs.
  • This position requires a clean-shaven appearance as per WCB standards.
