About the Role

The Chief Financial Strategist for Athletics and Recreation will provide professional advice, assistance, and problem resolution relating to the budget, financial operations, and capital projects. The successful candidate will lead the annual budget planning and internal and external financial reporting processes for all units.

As a member of the senior management team, the Chief Financial Strategist participates in the development of strategic objectives for financial and human resources planning and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic business and long-term financial plans in collaboration with the Executive Director, Athletics & Recreation;
  • Provide recommendations on determining and developing financial management strategies to ensure optimal allocation of budget and improving operational efficiencies;
  • Advise and provide guidance on the financial implications of new financial ventures;
  • Manage staff effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) and five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of the design and development of financial models for projecting key revenues and expenses and conducting analyses;
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management.
