About the Role

The Occupational Health and Safety Program Manager provides leadership and expertise in delivering occupational health and safety services across the organization. Responsibilities include making recommendations on occupational health and safety practices, procedures, and policies; developing and administering the corporate Occupational Health and Safety Management Program; and coordinating occupational health and safety training.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provides leadership and expertise in occupational health and safety services delivery across the organization;
  2. Makes recommendations regarding responsibilities and standards for occupational health and safety practices, procedures, and policies at all levels of the organization;
  3. Develops and administers the corporate Occupational Health and Safety Management Program;
  4. Coordinates and/or performs occupational health and safety training;
  5. Investigates injuries to employees and incidents/near misses involving City owned vehicles/equipment and buildings;
  6. Communicates with other agencies and acts as the City's representative in regard to occupational health and safety matters;

This role requires a 2-year Community College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Relevant certifications are an asset. Experience in occupational health and safety programming and audits is required.
