Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Keewaytinook Okimakanak Board of Education. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide a range of services to our schools in Northwestern Ontario, including assessment, therapy, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide treatment and consultation for clients from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in areas such as articulation, language, fluency, Autism Spectrum Disorder, motor speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
  • Participate in professional development activities for school staff members and public education for parents/guardians.
  • Develop new programs and services, as well as therapy activities.
  • Document intervention in client charts.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Registered and a member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Experience in collecting and reporting statistics.
  • Knowledge of the complex multi-layered structure of health and social programs targeted to children with developmental delays or disabilities and their families.
  • Effective decision-making and leadership qualities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstration and oral presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of children's mental health, family systems, and developmental issues.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with other professionals within and outside of the Centre.
  • Understanding of and/or work experience with Indigenous Peoples and First Nations communities.
  • Flexible and organized with good planning/time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • A valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
  • Current valid Criminal Record Check.
What We Offer:

We offer a comprehensive benefit package and a competitive salary range of $82,115 - $99,812 based on education and experience.
