Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests and ensuring that their rooms are clean and comfortable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer professional and friendly service to all guests, responding timely to any special requests
  • Provide intuitive service, engaging with external and internal guests and anticipating their needs
  • Assist Room Attendants to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently
  • Respond timely to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items
  • Clean all assigned areas, including sanitizing, dusting, and vacuuming
  • Collect dirty linen, garbage, and recyclables from Room Attendants' carts and closets
  • Maintain inventory in the Housekeeping closets
  • Foster positive cross-departmental relationships to create a seamless experience
  • Follow detailed housekeeping standards and departmental policies
Requirements
  • Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
Physical Aspects of the Position
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
