Overview

At KPMG Canada, you will collaborate with a diverse team of dedicated professionals who share a common goal: providing innovative solutions to clients worldwide. Our Canadian Corporate Tax practice works closely with clients to minimize federal and provincial corporate income taxes. We also offer assistance in ruling requests, tax audits, and assessments from federal and provincial tax authorities. In addition to ensuring compliance with income tax filing obligations, we proactively identify and implement income tax-saving opportunities to enhance our clients' businesses.

The Opportunity

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing working papers and income tax returns for personal and corporate clients. You will also ensure follow-up on Notice of Assessments, communicate with the CRA on various tax matters, and perform tax research. Furthermore, you will work with Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners on client engagements to develop and assist with tax planning strategies for our clients. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely completion of returns and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare working paper files and income tax returns for personal and corporate clients.
  • Ensure follow-up on Notice of Assessments.
  • Communicate with the CRA on various tax matters.
  • Perform tax research.
  • Work with Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners on client engagements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of returns and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Successfully passed the CFE, and has obtained a CPA designation.
  • Currently enrolled or willing to enroll in the In-Depth Tax program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Is keen to assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients.
  • Willingly takes on and learns new skills by researching a wide variety of tax issues.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $99,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG Canada offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
