Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to develop and implement our internal communications strategies. This role is responsible for managing the execution of corporate communications plans, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the NWMO's brand standards are applied consistently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage internal communications strategies to engage employees and stakeholders.
  • Administer the NWMO's Corporate Sponsorships and Donations program, including managing relationships with external organizations and coordinating communication with stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute internal events, such as annual employee meetings and townhalls.
  • Develop and manage communications plans and tactics, including creating content, managing intranet pages, and leading communications campaigns.
  • Provide support for communications content, plans, and strategies, including coordinating spokesperson responses and drafting responses to public inquiries.
  • Supervise staff and provide coaching to ensure optimal work performance.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year University education in communications, public relations, or journalism.
  • 8-10 years of experience in communications and public relations, with a strong focus on internal communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of communications principles and techniques.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and printing processes.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in the procurement process.
  • Proficient in standard word processing, presentation, and desktop publishing applications.
