About the Role

Vogtech Renewables is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our process development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new chemical processes and improving existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control on programs, procedures, and control strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Determine product specifications and establish new quality control programs and strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluate chemical process technology and equipment to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Conduct economic and technical feasibility studies to determine the viability of new projects.
  • Develop guidelines and specifications for the handling of dangerous chemicals, environmental protection, and standards for foods, materials, and consumer goods.
  • Oversee the construction, modification, operation, and maintenance of pilot plants, processing units, or processing plants to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Commission systems and components to ensure that they are functioning properly and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
  • Prepare design concepts, sketches, or models for approval and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
