Medical Geriatric Specialist

At CAN-NP-SER, we aim to revolutionize the geriatric care landscape by emphasizing flexibility, accessibility, and exceptional customer service for facility operators and their clients.
We are currently seeking a part-time, permanent NP contractor position to provide high-quality care to residents and clients within the Geriatric sector. As a contracted NP, you will be responsible for running your own independent business, delivering medical services as a Medical Resident Practitioner (MRP) in a geriatric facility.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering medical services as an MRP within a geriatric facility
- Operating or running a primary health care clinic for rostered patients, 8-16 hours per week
- On-call responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility over medical care delivery to geriatric clients
- Management of complex chronic co-morbidities
- Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team during care delivery
- On-call responsibilities
- Providing high-quality customer service
- Offering clinical/medical education to clients and staff
- Participating in care conferencing
- Completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner program, preferably in Primary Health Care
- Current extended class certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in geriatrics
- Experience with chronic disease management and geriatric care
- Ability to handle crisis situations promptly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Current vulnerable sector police check
- You must have reliable means of transportation
- The position allows for some scheduling flexibility
