Manufacturing Drafter/Designer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Drafter/Designer to join our Equipment Design Engineering department at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D drawings for construction packages on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and specification sheets.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) software, including Autodesk Inventor/Creo/Revit, to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and complete documentation packages.
- Prepare and interpret conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering drawings and specifications.
- Respond quickly to the shop floor's needs and address issues that may surface during production.
- Independently manage a workload consisting of multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
Requirements
- College diploma in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in CAD design, including standardized drafting practices.
- 3+ years of experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment.
- 2+ years of related experience in HVAC or mechanical equipment design applications.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
