Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of credit decision and account management strategies to minimize risk.
  • Analyze credit risk strategies and policies, portfolio risk trends, business analytics, scorecard performance, and risk models for non-credit card consumer loan products.
  • Evaluate and implement processes and applications to provide risk metrics, management reports, and MIS support.
  • Collaborate with product partners to ensure all decisions align with Risk Appetite.

Business Objectives:

  • Work closely with key business leaders to develop a business plan that leverages TD Bank's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and scale.
  • Plan and execute on strategic activities, review results, and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • Deliver results aligned with business strategies by executing on the annual business plan.
  • Manage overall budget, revenue, and expenditures while meeting business objectives and increasing efficiency.
  • Identify key business opportunities, research enhancements/modifications, develop strategies, and work closely with the team to execute and implement.
  • Maintain open communication regarding the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to your area of expertise.
  • Protect the interests of the organization by managing risks and escalating non-standard high-risk transactions/activities as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct.

Team Leadership:

  • Contribute to the development of business segment and/or enterprise functional strategic priorities within your operational area or field of specialty.
  • Develop annual and/or long-term plans for your area, influencing plans well beyond managed areas.
  • Lead the management of the overall team, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Set targets and objectives for the team, delivering results.
  • Foster growth in team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction, continually assessing skills and capabilities and seeking ways to enhance value delivered.
  • Lead a high-performing team, providing ongoing feedback and performance reviews, coaching, and developing employees, ensuring performance management activities are undertaken.
  • Lead the process of setting performance objectives for the team, tracking, monitoring, and addressing and/or rewarding performance in a timely manner.
  • Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines of conduct.
  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure timely communication of issues, encouraging good working relationships with other teams.
  • Support an environment where team members freely escalate business challenges, facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones/successes.
  • Recruit for all hires to ensure a highly diverse, qualified workforce to achieve objectives.
  • Establish and foster a cohesive team, promoting a fair and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce and encourages common goals/objectives.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and TD Bank, both internally and externally.

  • Oversee and lead a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity, or scope, growing talent, developing skills, and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project/initiative success, and achieve business results.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within your area of expertise.
  • Manage and oversee the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to enterprise best practices.

  • Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences, generating strategic roadmaps and deliverables/frameworks/short- and long-term goals.
  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals.
  • Focus on longer-range planning for your functional area, such as 12 months or greater.
  • Generally report to business management executives.

Experience and Education:

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or
  • 10+ years relevant experience
