Chief Engineer Position Overview for Experienced Maritime Professionals

Algoma Central Corporation, a leading provider of dry-bulk shipping services, seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Engine Room Department and reporting directly to the Captain and Engineering Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the vessel's engine room
- Maintain high mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers and other crew members
- Manage vessel maintenance and repairs
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Requirements:
- Hold a First-Class Engineer, Motor Ship issued by Transport Canada
- Hold STCW Certificates
- Hold a Marine Medical issued by Transport Canada
- Possess a Canadian passport or permanent residence status
- Be certified as a Ship Security Officer
Compensation: $860.00 per day (dependent on vessel type)
