Lead Cybersecurity Initiatives

HAMILTON BARNES ASSOCIATES LIMITED is seeking a seasoned Senior Detection Engineer to spearhead the development of its threat detection capabilities. As a pivotal member of the MSSP's security infrastructure team, you will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and service delivery managers to build a robust, efficient, and effective threat detection and response system.

This high-profile role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strategic mindset to influence both operational and strategic decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and lead threat detection efforts across the MSSP.
  • Design and refine detection rules from scratch, working closely with stakeholders to optimize performance.
  • Develop and implement advanced detection strategies using FortiSIEM, Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats by leveraging the MITRE ATT&CK framework, OWASP, and threat intelligence.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to integrate APIs and manage SOAR platforms for automation and response.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in building and testing detection rules from scratch.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft or Fortinet technologies, preferably a combination of both.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as FortiSIEM or Splunk.
  • Experience in crafting and managing threat detection strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and OWASP.

Compensation: £50,000-£60,000 per annum
