Chief Financial Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance team and oversee all aspects of financial management. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Barrie, ON.
About the Role:
- This role will be responsible for managing all accounting and bookkeeping functions, including preparing and presenting financial reports, reconciling transactions, and leading administrative compliance responsibilities.
- You will work closely with the Senior Management Team under the direction of the Executive Director to advance the development, implementation, and evaluation of our finance and financial administration activities.
About You:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit or charitable organization.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
- You are a professional, dependable, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for finance and numbers.
Responsibilities:
Financial Services- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of our accounting transactions and records, including full cycle accounting – day-to-day bookkeeping and month-end accrual and reconciliation.
- Maintain general account, program accounts, and other required ledgers.
- Summarize financial health status and generate accurate monthly financial reports or statements, including variance analysis report for regular Senior Management Team meetings.
- Ensure completion of bi-weekly payroll process and lead budget management of staff allocations and coding, in collaboration with the Director, People & Culture.
- Maintain financial reports and tools, as required by the Executive Director or the board.
- Oversee the administration of Oahas banking activities, including monitoring cash flows and updating payments in QuickBooks.
- Liaise with the bank to update official signatories and fulfill banking requirements.
- Lead responsibility for credit card reconciliation and administration.
- Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal legislation as it relates to all agency operations.
- Ensure timely completion/payment of all corporate taxes/remittances, including GST/HST remittances and CRA reporting for charitable organizations.
- Lead support to third party auditing firms to prepare for the annual financial audit process.
- Support cross-training in financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, etc.
- Lead co-development of the annual operational budget by the Senior Management Team.
- Perform risk assessment tests/analysis to inform sound fiscal planning.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
