Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ensemble Manager to oversee the day-to-day functions of the ARC Ensemble at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedule rehearsals, recordings, and performances while ensuring smooth communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Book travel and accommodation for national and international tours, coordinating logistics with ensemble members and guest musicians.
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director on strategic planning, artistic direction, and budget management.
  • Facilitate the production of two annual concerts in the Mazzoleni Masters series, including coordination of venues, technical requirements, and marketing efforts.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to promote the ensemble's activities, projects, and members.
  • Research and pursue potential engagement opportunities with festival presenters, concert halls, and other performance venues.
  • Manage budgets, process expenses, and invoices, working closely with the Artistic Director and Development teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in music or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in performing arts administration or management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms and content creation.
Additional Information

This is a part-time, 12-month contract position, requiring approximately 25 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will be available to support events during evenings and weekends, as well as occasional off-site performances.
