Thorek/Scott and Partners is a leading Canadian asset management firm seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on a front-facing leadership role as Director of Investor Relations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for executing strategic initiatives to develop and maintain key investor relationships, including equity analysts, public and private investors, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to build and maintain strong relationships with equity analysts and investors.
  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly activities and communications to investors, including investor day events.
  • Formulate and communicate key messaging to the market, both verbally and in written format.
  • Plan and execute investor events, such as annual investor day.
  • Articulate the organization's equity strategy effectively to stakeholders, including describing new transaction activity.
  • Proactively manage investor relationships to execute on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of the business.
  • Understand and assess investor sentiment and implement programs to take advantage of market momentum and address issues.
  • Report on activities to senior management and the board.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or finance and CPA, MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, equity research, corporate development, or investor relations.
  • Clear history of working with public company and/or public markets investors.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations.
  • Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively and has experience working with senior management teams.
  • Team-oriented; demonstrates a commitment to shared success above any personal accomplishment or recognition.

Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
