Job Title: Construction Superintendent - Building

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team at the Detroit International Bridge Company. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of multiple commercial and industrial projects at the Ambassador Bridge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors to determine project needs, set goals, and deadlines, and plan construction processes.
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project stays on budget.
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines, conduct safety meetings, and ensure the job site is safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Manage the construction crew, supervise subcontractors, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, monitor and report on project progress, and prepare progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Four-year construction management/engineering degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
  • ~4-6 years of knowledge of commercial or industrial construction activities, design, finance, and management required.
  • ~Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • ~Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • ~Knowledge of WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, Computer Automated Design (CAD), and scheduling software systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, familiarity with permitting, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Strong track record of accomplishments within commercial and industrial construction.
Working Conditions:

The Construction Superintendent will work in an office environment, outside around heavy equipment, and may be required to lift heavy objects.
