About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will work under the direction of a professional nurse or therapist to implement treatment plans and assist patients with their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan under the direction of a physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
  2. Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, and communication.
  3. Provide functional skills training to patients and families.
  4. Assist with power and manual wheelchair mobility training.
  5. Maintain therapy equipment and supplies.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
