The estimated salary for this position is CAD 60,000 - 80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

About the Role

This Clinical Nurse Specialist position is part of the Long-Term Care administration team within Vancouver Community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in the delivery of nursing care and the formulation of organizational policies relevant to such care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in the planning, development, and implementation of clinical policies and programs designed for improving patient/client care.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation in the areas of nursing, resource planning, program and health system improvement, research, and professional development to support quality and utilization initiatives.
  • Function as a clinical leader in Long-Term Care, Geriatrics, and advanced nursing practice in the area of this specialty through the use of advanced practice and evidence-based research.
  • Work closely with Professional Practice leaders and act as a liaison between various hospitals and/or community programs to facilitate integration of care across the continuum.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience working in a healthcare setting with a focus in Long-Term Care, Geriatrics, and in a progressive leadership role.
  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in Geriatrics or membership in related provincial, national, and/or international professional association(s) with experience in trach and vent preferred.
