Event Sales and Marketing Representative

The Mississauga Convention Centre is a premier event venue that specializes in hosting private and corporate events. Our mission is to provide unparalleled service and create memorable experiences for our clients and their guests.

We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Event Sales and Marketing Representative. This role is responsible for developing event business and promoting our brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute an aggressive sales strategy to achieve existing and annual sales goals
  • Prepare weekly sales summaries for review and provide insights on successes and failures
  • Build and maintain a client base with a focus on inbound sales opportunities, booking repeat business, and establishing long-term partnerships
  • Follow up with clients post-event to ensure we are providing positive shareable experiences
  • Input, tag, and maintain client relationships via CRM
  • Manage bookings to optimize revenue in all venues
  • Align with clients on event feasibility, forecasts, pricing, and special offers
  • Coordinate event details with clients and ensure payment schedules are followed
  • Act as a liaison between clients and business operators, communicating event details effectively to the operations team
  • Develop relationships outside of the business with key stakeholders
  • Attend, lead, and participate in outside networking events, tradeshows, and activations to build a book of prospects for future events at MCC
  • Develop a sales strategy to achieve personal and organizational sales goals and revenues, coordinating sales activities
  • Conduct sales calls, prospecting activities, and entertaining
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in Event Management and/or Sales in the Hospitality and/or events industry
  • Experience selling and designing events in a hospitality setting across multiple markets
  • Experience with actively prospecting and cold calling
  • Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented environment
  • Passion for exceeding customer expectations and providing positive shareable experiences
  • Superior relationship building, selling, and communication skills
  • Understanding of venue operations, food and beverage, and event planning
  • Proven success with implementing sales growth strategies
  • Highly organized, proactive, and efficient individual with initiative and problem-solving skills
  • High acumen to detail and accuracy of data and information
  • Proven track record for making significant contributions to a growing business
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to successfully interact with employees
  • Professional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient with computer systems, including CRM's
