About Société Générale's Capital Market Surveillance

Société Générale's Capital Market Surveillance is a key department within the Compliance team, responsible for monitoring security transactions and Firm communications to ensure adherence to industry rules and regulations.

As a global team, CMS consists of two surveillance teams: one focused on transaction monitoring and the other on electronic Firm communications. The US CMS Trade Surveillance team seeks an additional resource in Montreal to support its monitoring activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team where you will work closely with regional and global colleagues to mitigate regulatory and reputational risks. As a Compliance Department, we enable the firm to operate according to essential compliance standards, ensuring that Société Générale's non-compliance and reputation risks are controlled.

Our team works collaboratively with various business units to deliver innovative solutions to clients while adhering to all SG standard protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in monitoring security transactions for compliance with Exchange rules.
  • Review trade surveillance alerts and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders for investigation and resolution.
  • Develop, test, and implement new surveillance scenarios and minimum standards.
  • Ensure quality assurance and reasonability testing of surveillance controls.
  • Contribute to regional and global compliance initiatives and investigations.
  • Analyze new and/or amended industry rules and regulations.
  • Evaluate the impact of new business initiatives on the surveillance program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in trade surveillance, general compliance, and/or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
