About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join our team at the Genome Sciences Centre (GSC). As a key member of our bioinformatics team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of clinical bioinformatics pipelines and related databases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of novel software solutions, as directed by the Assistant Bioinformatics Coordinator or Clinical Bioinformatics Coordinator.
  • Participate in peer code review and contribute to writing and updating official procedures and other documentation related to clinical bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Collaborate with world-renowned computational and genome science technologists, cancer researchers, and medical scientists to develop close relationships and access to cutting-edge technology.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science Program in either Biological Sciences or Computer Science.
  • Two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the GSC Group Leaders.
  • Proficiency in Python or other similar high-level languages, functional knowledge of distributed version control systems, and demonstrated ability in R or other similar statistical programming languages.
