Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans.
  • Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure seamless medication management.
  • Participate in daily Cross Over meetings to discuss resident care and medication administration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
  • Ensure the Medication Room, medication carts, and treatment carts are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Follow re-fill processes for medications and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Provide exceptional resident care by promoting dignity, independence, and physical safety.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications may be required per state/provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
  • Ability to react calmly in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
