FirstService Residential is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in a luxury condominium community. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the financial accounting system of the condominium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the condominium's financial statements monthly and ensure accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with the FirstService Residential accounting team to achieve the board of directors' objectives.
  • Ensure that the entries to the journals of the condominium corporation are accurate and complete, and that the invoices have been adequately approved by FirstService personnel.
  • Contribute to the completion of special projects as defined and requested by the board of directors.
  • Maintain and update separate financial reports as may be required by the Board of Directors.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years of operational accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Condo industry is an asset.
  • Strong background in preparing and maintaining financial reports using digital book-keeping software.
  • Proficiency in working within an organization with a strong internal control environment, as it relates to accurate financial reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
