Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Hub Programmer to join our team at the City of Brandon. As a key member of our Operational Services - Parks & Recreation team, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing recreation programs and special events that meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Delivery
    • Develop and implement recreation programs and events that align with community needs and objectives.
    • Collaborate with external stakeholders to identify and develop community events or programs.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Administration
    • Prepare program reports and monitor program budgets.
    • Develop and implement promotional materials and related communications.
    • Assist in the planning, research, and development of programs and special projects.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma.
  • Ability to hold and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience at a midline supervisory level.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in recreation or a related field.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR/C.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary or equivalent diploma or undergraduate degree in recreation or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing programs and community events.
  • Supervisory experience within a union environment.
Work Environment

The Recreation Hub Programmer works independently and as part of the team, providing support to a variety of people. Self-motivation and quality-driven work are essential for this role.
