Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is approximately $104,000 - $124,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience. As a permanent employee, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including annual paid vacation, individual performance incentives, a defined benefit pension plan, and group insurance coverage.

Job Description

This exciting opportunity exists within our Accounting Operations and Procurement Team, where you will support the development and implementation of a flood reinsurance program. You will work closely with stakeholders to design and implement accounting and procurement operations, encompassing general and tax accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, travel & expenses, procurement, and vendor risk management.

You will develop policies and guidelines, document processes and procedures, and collaborate with the Financial Systems Group to design a finance platform tailored to the new entity's operational and reporting needs. Your technical leadership and coaching skills will be essential in managing change and engaging stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in finance process design and implementation, external or internal auditing, and/or accounting operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and rigorous analysis using critical thinking and judgment to resolve complex issues.
  • Proven experience in leading finance system implementation or transformation projects and managing change.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
About the Role

This new position was created following the Budget 2024 announcement of the Federal Government's intention to establish a subsidiary of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to deliver flood reinsurance and advance implementation of a national flood reinsurance program by 2025.
