About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Second Family Care. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients, enabling them to maintain their independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and hygiene assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and eating
  • Assist clients with medication reminders and ambulation
  • Help clients with mobility and transportation, including accompanying them to appointments and errands
  • Assist with meal planning and preparation, as well as physical therapy exercises
  • Complete client shopping or accompany them to do so
  • Follow each client's plan of care and act quickly in emergency situations
  • Offer essential daily living activities, including serving and other tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to improve and learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate attitude
  • PSW certificate meeting technical and practical standards
  • Clear enhanced Vulnerable sector check is required upon hire
  • Excellent communication skills
  • CPR certificate
